Palm Z22 Review 02/08/2008

The Palm Z22 is a basic PDA that is intended for basic personal use. It isn't a business executive's PDA. It will help you create appointments and keep track of your day-to-day schedules and contacts. It is an easy to-do list manager. Overall, Palm has been in the business of making handhelds for a long time so the functions have all been well thought out.

The Palm Z22 is targetted to the mainstream user who is tired of keeping track of little pieces of paper. It works as a dedicated manager of your life. Some people may argue that their cell phones have taken over these tasks, but that is not true. Unless you have used a dedicated device that keeps track of your personal information, only then will you be able to see how powerful it is in terms of organizing you life.

The Palm TX is one of Palm's most popular handheld PDA devices. It has built in WiFi and Bluetooth for the most up to date connectivity for business users. It has expansion slots that supports Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia (MMC), and Secure Digital I/O (SDIO). Like most business PDAs it has support for editing Excel and Word files and the ability to syncronize with Microsoft Outlook on a Windows computer.

It has support for PDF documents and PowerPoint presentations. When you buy a Palm TX you also get a free 30 day free subscription to T-Mobile HotSpots which connects you to T-Mobile's widespread network of wireless HotSpots. It uses the Palm OS operating system which provides easy to use functionality for every possible task that you can imagine. Palm is the veteran in handhelds so their operating system has well thought out functionality for everything.

Palm has announced that it will launch the Centro smartphone in UK. This is great news for the business users in UK because this means that they will have more options when it comes to business friendly phones. It will be running Palm's own OS 5.4.9 rather than the Windows Mobile systems that run on their Treo line.

The people who will enjoy the Centro the most will be users who, due to the nature of their work, email a lot. Having used almost all the various emailing systems that exist, I have to say that Palm has one of the easiest and most intuitive emailing systems. Furthermore, if you use Gmail you will see a familiar thread-like structure of past emails that will make it easier to follow along the email conversations.
